Norman Earl Farmer April 23, 1949 – September 03, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Norman Earl Farmer, 70, of Tannehill, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Tannehill Cemetery Pavilion with Mr. Ralph Jernigan officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Daryl Clifton, Jeff Irwin, Vince Lott, David Blessing, Kenny Bethune, and Windell Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Clifton, Trent Myers, Roger Lott, Bill Anderson, Donny Johnson, Paul Giaudrone, and Don Ross. The family requests memorials be made to the Indianola 4-H and FFA Booster Club, c/o Jerry Hamilton at P.O. Box 119, Indianola, OK 74442. Norman was born on April 23, 1949 in Stanley, Oklahoma to Norman D. and Eula Earl (Tyler) Farmer. He graduated from Clayton High School in the class of 1967 before serving in the United States Navy. He entered the U.S. Navy on March 5, 1968 and served until he earned his honorable discharge on December 17, 1971, earning the rank of AMS3 (Aviation Structural Mechanic, Petty Officer 3rd Class). He married Judy Bridges in Deport, Texas on February 16, 1973. Norman worked as a ranch manager for the Jim Miller Ranch for 28 years before his retirement. He was a great patriot, family man, and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman & Eula Farmer. Norman is survived by his wife: Judy Farmer of the home; daughter: Lorie Wilson and husband, Dennis of Tannehill; grandson: Brandon Wilson of Tannehill, brother: Jim Farmer and wife, Jane of San Antonio, New Mexico; niece: Shannon Mounyo and husband, Johnny Ray of Socorro, New Mexico; special Navy buddies: Frank Howard, Gene Howard, and Billy Koteras; and other family and friends.
