Nora Ann’s Obituary Nora Ann Patton Giovinazzo, 85, was born on November 6, 1933, in McGuffey, Ohio, to George Blanton and Stella Howard Stone. She passed from this earthly life to join with our Lord in His Holy Kingdom on September 7, 2019. Nora was fortunate to grow up with many brothers and sisters. Nora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, but above all, she was a follower of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeff and Carol Patton of Houston, Texas, Pamela and David Hoyman of Davenport, Florida, and John and Debby Patton of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine Sparks of Galveston, Texas, Carol Earlene Gardner of Coldwater, Michigan; and four brothers, James Blanton of Coldwater, Michigan, Victor Blanton of Union City, Michigan, Eddie K Blanton of Greenup, Kentucky, and Paul David Blanton of Greenup, Kentucky. She is also survived by her longest and dearest friend forever, her sister-in-law, Velma Scott of Alger, Ohio. Nora is also survived by her nine beloved grandchildren and their spouses/partners, Elizabeth and Vince Tracey, Kristi Erlenbach, Jaime and Deena Whited, Emily Feathers and Paul McRae, Kaabe Hoyman, Jessica and Robbie Campbell, John Nicholas Patton, Brianna Patton and Dylan Young, and Brittany Barger and Joe Fritz, along with her great grandchildren, Morgan, Reagan, Sarah, Ethan, Tristan, Corey, Hunter, Riley, Blake, Avri, Colin, Killian, Caleb, Marissa, Daylon, and Noah, and last but not least, her great great grandchild, Ethan Krall. Nora was preceded in death by many of her brothers and sisters, Maxine Collins, Imogene Pack, Mary Jane Allen, Homer Stone, James Stone, Jr, Betty Risner, Sevard Ray Stone, Barbara Evenson, Larry Davis, Francis Gene Blanton, Harley Blanton, Dora Blanton Balcom, George Blanton, Jr., and Evie Bergetts. Nora was an employee of the US Postal Service, where she proudly became the Postmaster of McGuffey, Ohio until her retirement in 1993. Throughout her life, her home was always open to family and friends in need of a place to stay, or even just an encouraging word. Her daily prayers extended to many both near and far. Many dear nieces and nephews also mourn the passing of their favorite aunt. Nora’s wonderful smile, laughter, and warm hugs will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution in her name to the church of your choice. For those that can make it back to her longtime hometown, please join her family and friends for a celebration of her life at the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, Ohio on September 21, 2019, at 1 PM, with Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating, with a viewing beginning at 11 AM. Her remains will thereafter be placed at rest nearby in Preston Cemetery next to her deceased husband and one true love of her life, John Russell Patton, Sr. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
