Michael Burton Cain earned his angel wings on September 19th, 2019 at Richland Bean Blossom Nursing Facility in Ellettsville, IN. Born April 15th, 1945, he was the son of William Henry and Allie Marie (Siscoe) Cain. Mike graduated from Smithville High School in 1963 and shortly after enlisted in the USMC on the buddy plan with Merle Myers. A veteran of Vietnam, Mike served 4 years, earning the rank of Sergeant E-5. Mike worked for General Electric in Bloomington for several years, retiring as foreman over the warehouse. Mike is survived by his loving daughter, Mamie Cain, two granddaughters, Miranda Cain-Morton and Samantha Ruoff, and great-grandson Hendrix Cain-Morton, all of Arizona; his son, Matthew (Carmen) Cain of Darwin, Australia; his sisters Karen (Ted) Robertson of Breckenridge, Texas, and Sherry Taylor of Eastland, Texas; his brothers Don (Vicki) Cain of Crawfordsville, Jeff (Jackie) Cain of Springville, Dan (Suzy) Cain, and Steve (Schyrel) Cain, all of Bloomington; and his sister-in-law Karen Cain of Bloomington, and his step-siblings Mike Latimer & Kathy (Ray) Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diane Cain, his brother Joe Cain, his niece Marlisa Taylor, his brother-in-law Dale Taylor, his step-father Red Latimer, his step-brother Tim Latimer, and his beloved cat Elvis. Visitation for Mike will be held from 3-5pm on Tuesday, September 24th 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell & Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. A memorial service will be held at 5pm Tuesday, and The Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rights.
