Melvin J. Veeder, Jr., age 53, of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. He was born on August 21, 1966 in Gloversville, a son of Melvin J. Veeder and Linda Craig Veeder. Melvin attended Gloversvile schools and was employed for many years in the Leather Industry at several local tanneries including Twin City Leather and Karg Brothers. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Melvin is survived by his wife Kimberly S. Veeder of Fultonville, one son Joshua Veeder, one brother Clarence Veeder (Nan), niece Stacey Boyer and nephew Michael Rumrill. There will be no calling hours. Private services will be conducted at the convenience of his family. Contributions in Melvin’s memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, Pine West Plaza Building 2, Suite 204, Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, New York 12205 or to the American Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Avenue, Suite 214, Overland Park, Kansas 66202.
