Melvin Franklin Hudson, 86, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Saturday September 14, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 17 at Ex-Way Baptist Church . Rev. Mike Helms will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Hudson was born on April 6, 1933 to the late Louis Josh and Ida Mae Ingram Hudson. He was a carpenter and a member at Ex-Way Baptist Church. Melvin will always be remember for his love of carpentry, fishing, and hummingbirds. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Henry, David, and Armenta Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lee Hudson of the home; sons: Wendell Hudson and wife Teresa of Ellerbe, and Norman Hudson and wife Sherrie of Jackson Springs. Five grandchildren: Spencer Hudson, Koby Hudson, Leanne Gileds, and Daicia Culver and Husband Tim; and one great-granddaughter: Briar Fay Culver; his sister: Shirley Blake, and brothers: Dwight and Michael Hudson, all of Mt. Gilead.
