The late Mauvet Maud Davis affectionately called ‘Vetty’ was born in Kingston to Ephraim Walton and Pearl Burnet on October 7, 1958. At the age of three (3) she went to live with her Grandmother – Ethel Walton- in Crawl St. Catherine. This is where she spent most of her life while in Jamaica. Mauvet received her early education at the Berwick Primary School from where she transitioned to the Dinthill Technical, in Linstead. Mauvet recognizing the value of education, continued her studies at Jamaica Commercial Institute where learned shorthand. After leaving college, seemingly with a strong passion to move overseas, she left Jamaica in 1981 for Canada where she spent one (1) year. Mauvet left Canada for the United States in 1982 to join her soul mate Clifton Davis. On the 18th of January 1984, she married the love of her life. The union bore two (2) children Quennan Kristopher Davis, who is a Mechanical Engineer and Christina Melissa Davis who studied Science in Psychology and is currently a Realtor. Mauvet was an ambitious and hardworking individual, who received her first job in the United States at a dry cleaner in Davie but this was of course temporary. Her true passion was Real Estate and Property Management, which led to her pursue her Community Association Management license. After obtaining her license she began working at Glen Cove Condominium for Fifteen (15) years. She went on to broaden her horizons by working at Village Square Condominium for seven (7) years along with managing additional properties as an independent contractor. Mauvet (Vetty) has shared her life with us in many special ways and has left behind a multitude of precious memories. Memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. On September 22, 2019 God called her home with her loving husband Clifton “Cliff” and her two children at her side – gone but never forgotten. Mauvet is survived by: Husband -Clifton Davis, Son- Quennan Davis, Daughter – Christina Davis, Aunt- Havil Clair and a host of other relatives and friends.
