Mary’s Obituary First Lady Mary Ann “Mae Mae” Norwood, age 61, wife of Pastor Dr. Michael Norwood, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 12PM at Heritage Funeral home with Bishop Henry Davenport, of Nashville, officiating. Her body will lie in state on Saturday from 11AM – 12PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on March 7, 1958 in Mississippi, Mary was the daughter of the late Tommy Dunn and the late Atlean Dunn. Two days after she was born, her family transferred to Memphis, Tennessee where she was raised. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School in Memphis and earned her Associates degree in childcare. Mary worked seven years at Hospi-Tots Child Development in Columbia. She was a devoted member of Christian Faith Church where she loved teaching Sunday School and being involved with the children. She adored her grandchildren and often enjoyed going shopping. In addition to her husband, Michael, of thirty five years, she is survived by her children: Constance Glasper of Columbia, Michael Norwood, Jr. (Katie Baker) of Alabama; brothers: Nathan (Pepper) Dunn of Texas, Jimmy (Melissa) Dunn of Memphis; sisters: Gloria (Arthur) Lenton of Memphis, Brenda (Christopher) Davis of Memphis, Pamela Dunn of Memphis; grandchildren: Kirk Bell, Jr., Tianna McGruder, Merlayna Norwood, Michael Norwood, III, Monii Norwood, Maryanna Norwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Honorary pallbearers will include: Minister Wilbert Cooper, Dr. Andre Reynolds, Minister Joseph Hatton, Minister Robert Gallamore, Elder Timothy Thomas, and Elder James Jacks. Read More
