Mamie Pearl Nicholson was born in Mobil, Al on December 8th 1932 to the left Pearl Collins and Edward Daniels, raised by her stepfather Ishem Chatton, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on September 2, 2019 at Fairview Hospital at 9:25 a.m. to be with her love Ozen. She was the oldest of four and is survived by Tennie Chatton and sister in law Dorothy Chatton. The family moved to Berea in the late thirties. Mamie attended the Berea City School System. Ozen and Mamie met in 1948 and United in Holy Matrimony on July 8, 1950. From this union six children were born, three preceded them in death Alice Renee, Raymond Francis and Dennis Wayne. She is the devoted mother to Richard (JoAnn), Linda Hunter (John) and Ozen Jr., aka Junebug. Loving grandmother to Tameka Johnson (Peter), Richard Jr. (Angie), Kieya Hill (Michael), Antonyo Spight, Erika Sherman (Roderick), Jennifer Lewis, Jessie, Daniel and Melissa Nicholson and Michael Craighead. Great grandmother of twenty. She retired from Cuyahoga County Family and Children Services, from there she went to work part time for Berea Board of Education in the Transportation Dept as an Aide on the School Bus. The Services will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Saturday September 7, 2019. Wake 9:00 -10:00 a.m, with Funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m.
