Evensen, age 71 of Cayuga, WI passed away Monday, Sept 23, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, WI with her loving family near her side. Lori was born Feb 22, 1948 in Aberdeen, South Dakota the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Sahli) Roth. On Feb 14, 1970 she was united in marriage to Gary F. Evensen in Menasha, WI. She was an X-ray technician when she and Gary moved to Cayuga in 1979. In 1983 she and Gary purchased ownership of the Cayuga Saloon from Gary’s Aunt Marge. Together they operated the business for over 25 years. After selling the business, she still loved to cook and spend time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Gary, of Cayuga; sons, Kevin (Valerie) of Crandon, WI and Ty (Holly) of Cayuga; grandchildren, Devon, Preston, Ethan, Cole and Blake; brothers, Jerome (Marla) Schwalen of Marietta, GA, James (Yvonne) Schwalen of Jackson, WI and Charles (Gail) Schwalen of Neenah, WI; sisters, Rebecca Huebner of Neenah and Julie (Dennis) Steffens of Menasha; special canine companions, Greta and Brandy as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Lori will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept 27, 2019 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mellen with Reverend Donald Quigley officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church in Mellen and continue until the hour of service. Interment will take place in the Cayuga Union Cemetery at a later date.
