Linda Sue (Burrow) Wessel, age 72, of Nixa, MO passed on Monday, September 9, 2019 at South Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born June 29, 1947 in Carthage, Missouri to Carl and Dorothy (Cox) Burrow. At a young age, Linda accepted Christ as her Saviour. Burrow family moved to Gallup, New Mexico in the 50’s and were missionaries to the Navajo Indians. Linda graduated in 1966 from Gallup High School in Gallup, New Mexico and met Mitchell Wessel there. They were soon married on March 4, 1967 and celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this past March. Linda was a devoted wife and loving mother to two children, Michael and Amanda. She was passionate about serving the Lord by attending church and working with pre-school children. Over the years, she worked as a babysitter, cafeteria worker at Ozark High School, a custodian at First Baptist Church and finally, cleaning houses until she retired. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening; she also enjoyed spending time lounging with her cat on her lap. Survivors include: Her husband Mitchell Wessel of Nixa; her mother, Dorothy Burrow of Nixa; her son Michael Wessel of Norfolk, VA; her daughter Amanda Olson of Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren: Gabriel, Ethan, and Cora. She was preceded in death by her father Carl and her sister Carlene. “For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 for Linda Sue Wessel at First Baptist Church Ozark. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Red Oak Cemetery, near Carthage. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday immediately before the funeral at the church.
