Larry Wayne Holcomb, 68, of Harpers Ferry, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, in the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Born November 30, 1950, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Grace Kertesz, of Maumee, Ohio, and the late Lionel Dewey Holcomb. Larry was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed being with his family, science fiction and watching Star Trek. He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1978. He then was an electronics technician for E Systems. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Beach Holcomb; son, Jonathon Michael Holcomb, and wife Kerine Marie, of Martinsburg; step-daughter, Laura Ann Young, of Ocean View, Delaware; brother, Robert Eugene Holcomb, of North Bend, Oregon; sister, Ana Chapman-Wydrinsk and husband Ray of Lewisville, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 nephews, and 3 nieces. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Cheryl Lynn Hardy. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Shannondale Springs Chapel with Pastor Porky Jones officiating. Interment will be private.
