Kelly Elizabeth O’Hara, 39, of Springfield VA, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the District of Columbia. She was born on March 23, 1980, in Puerto Rico to Diana and Scott O’Hara. Kelly graduated from West Springfield High School in 1998 and attended Northern Virginia Community College for a few years. She will be remembered as a beautiful, strong, resilient, and independent woman who had enormous pride for her sons Aidan Kanakry and Collin Rogers and extremely supportive and proud of her siblings’ dreams, goals, and accomplishments. Kelly held visions of returning to college to pursue her degree in culinary arts or psychology. She was passionate about cooking, helping others, and her Irish heritage. She loved meeting new people and would help others even when she was put at a disadvantage. She was never one to hesitate in expressing how she felt and always fought for what she believed was right. Kelly, like her father, struggled with addiction. While she ultimately failed to overcome her addiction, she will always be loved and missed by those who knew her. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal” Predeceased by her father: Dennis S. O’Hara. Survived by her mother: Diana O’Hara; stepfather: Ralph Saunders; two sons: Aidan Kanakry and wife Erika; and Collin Rogers; three siblings: Justin Duliba and wife Michelle, Meghan O’Hara and husband JR Smith; and Erin O’Hara.
