He was born on February 12, 1958 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Felipe Hernandez Godina and Natividad Puente. He is preceded in death by his father and siblings, Ramona Godina, Clemente Godina and Hector Godina. He is survived by his wife, Eliva Martinez Godina of Dilley; step children, Ernie Martinez, Claudia Garcia, Luis Garcia and Oscar Garcia all of Dilley. Mother, Natividad Puente of Colombia, Nuevo Laredo; siblings, Linda Godina DeLeon (Lucas) of Mexico, Felipe Godina (Felipa) of Cotulla, Atalo Godina (Cleo) of Dilley, Martin Godina (Rocio) of Laredo, Maria Lorenza Godina Hernandez of Mexico, Paula Godina (Ramiro) of Mexico and Alfredo Godina (Maria Victoria) of Mexico.
