Joy’s Obituary Joy C. Armstrong, 87 of Kahoka, Missouri passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at her home in Kahoka surrounded by her family. The daughter of Lester “Howdy” and Elender Bartels Wiles was born on March 1, 1932 in Kahoka, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Gene Armstrong on August 1, 1948 in Kahoka, Missouri. Joy was a very active charter member of the Kahoka Christian Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and helping with dinners. She was also a charter member of the Tuesday Club and did seamstress work for many years for the community and school. She always had Little Debbie snacks for the kids and babysat many children including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and neighbors very much. On Sunday evenings, as many as 60 members of her family would gather at her home for dinner. She is survived by her husband Gene Armstrong of Kahoka, Mo., children, Ronnie (Denise) Armstrong of Kahoka, Mo., Becky (Joe) Pirotte of Dallas, Tx., Terri (Jerry) Watson of Memphis, Mo. and Mark (Beverly) Armstrong of Kahoka, Mo.; ten grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Williams, Hilary (Mark) Plenge, Haley (Joe) Davidson, Jacob (Coryn) Armstrong, Joshua (Stacy) Armstrong, Travis (Toni) Pirotte, Jeremy (Shauna) Pirotte, Lance (Amanda) Watson, Larissa (Scott) Johnson and Lathan Watson; thirty-one great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, E. E. “Butch” Armstrong of Scotts Bluff, Ne. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law and four brother-in-law’s. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Kahoka Christian Church with Pastor Patrick Mutchler officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:30 until the time of services at the Kahoka Christian Church. Music: organist, Kathy Campbell and vocalist, H. L. Plenge. Pallbearers: Travis Pirotte, Dakota Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Joshua Armstrong, Lance Watson and Lathan Watson. Honorary Pallbearers: Mark Plenge, Joe Davidson, Tony Williams, Scott Johnson, Joe Pirotte, Jerry Watson and Jeremy Pirotte. Memorials may be made to the Kahoka Christian Church. Read More
