John Thomas James, 67, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1951 in Monroe County, Indiana the son of John Milton and Faye Marie (Russell) James. John graduated in 1971 from Bloomington High School. He was first employed at Indiana University, and then at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, John was a truck driver for many years driving for North American Van Lines, Hanna Trucking, and the City of Bloomington. He was a member of Bass Masters of Indiana, He enjoyed fishing and Indiana Basketball, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. John is survived by his son, John Nolan (Catherine) James of Travelers Rest, SC; his granddaughter, Hannah James; he is also survived by his sisters, Lorrinda (Everett) Carey; Sarah (Bob) Pierson both of Martinsville; four brothers, Randy (Lori) James of Bloomington; Jesse (Sheri) James of Shelbyville; Tim James and Donald James both of Martinsville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. with Rev. Michael Douglas officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday September 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
