Obituary for John August Huye II John August Huye, II, age 77, of Picayune Mississippi went to be with the Lord with his family by his side, Wednesday, September 18, 2019. John loved Jesus and loved to tell others about Jesus. He was an active member of Goodyear Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, boat building, trains, and camping. John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by his family and friends. After leaving New Orleans he moved to Slidell, Louisiana and was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Slidell. He loved serving in the bus ministry for many years. He enjoyed driving the bus for First Baptist Christian School events. He drove for Red Ball Motor Freight and later Consolidated Freightway. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Louise Fridley Huye of Picayune; one son, John “Jay” August Huye, III (Holly) of Picayune; three daughters, Alison Huye Jahnke (Michael) of Greer, South Carolina, Debra Huye Thompson of Picayune, and Jill Huye Lombardo (Daniel) of Sun, Louisiana; two sisters, Sandy Huye Gras of Harahan, Louisiana and Lucie Cooper of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Hannah Pearson, Zachary Huye, Seth Huye, John Huye IV, Alexandra Thompson, Elijah Lombardo, Sophia Lombardo, Adelaide Lombardo and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Pearson, Madelyn Pearson, Taylor Pearson. Preceded in death by his parents, John August Huye, Jr. and Lucie duTreil Huye; three brothers, William “Pete” Huye, David Huye, and Nelson Huye; one sister, Candy Huye. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Goodyear Baptist Church, A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Dr. Jeremy Williams officiating. Private internment will be held at a later date at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made towards youth camps or youth mission trips at Goodyear Baptist Church, 2710 Hwy 43 South, Picayune, Mississippi 39466 or Hebron Baptist Church, 79614 Hwy 41, Bush, Louisiana 70431.
