“Joe” Ernest’s Obituary “Joe” Ernest Zindel, Jr., 99, of Moweaqua, died September 10, 2019, in Moweaqua Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019, in First Christian Church of Moweaqua. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Moweaqua. Joe was born February 28, 1920 in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Ernest William and Frances Grace (Perry) Zindel, Sr. He married Frances M. Condon April 25, 1947 in Stonington, IL. She preceded him in death June 29, 2003. Joe was a member of First Christian Church of Moweaqua and an 80 year member of Moweaqua American Legion Post #370. He proudly served during WWII in the Army Air Corp. Joe was a retired farmer and carpenter. Surviving are his son, David (Ellen) Zindel of Decatur, IL; daughter, Pamela Jo (Jack) Casey of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Tammy (Steve) Lange of Naperville, IL, Shane (Julie) Zindel of Arden Hills, MN, and Warren (Pam) Casey of Elizabeth, IN; four great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; sister, Norma Schorfheide of Richmond, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
