Mrs. Jo Quida “Peggy” Luke Martin Friar, 90 of Adel passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Friar was born August 30, 1929 to the late Easton & Merse Bennett Luke. She worked at metal products for over 40 years. Survivors include her husband, J. D. Friar Jr of Adel; daughter, Paula Martin of Adel; granddaughter, Amy (Jason) Stein of PA; great grandsons, Colt Stein, and Clay Stein of PA; stepchildren, Cindy (Dave) Frost of Hahira, and Christy (Dennis) Friar of Adel; step grandchildren, Dustin Friar, Janaye (Billy) Welch, Charles (Shelby) Judge, Laura Brewer & fiance Jacob Keeler, Ashley Edney, and Josh Edney. Mrs. Friar was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Paul Martin; stepmother, Ollie Mae Foxworth Luke; sisters, Shirley Ann Luke Clements, and Helen Newana Moore; brothers, Johnny Luke and Gene Luke; brothers in law, E. L. “Buddy” Clements, and Glen Lee Moore Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 3:00 p. m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Elder Thad Marshall, and Elder Tony Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
