Elder Jimmy Ray Houser, 64, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina transitioned from labor to reward on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Summerstone Health and Rehabilitation in Kernersville, North Carolina. He was born June 15, 1955 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Nathan Benjamin Houser and Margret Mae Bell. He matriculated through the local Surry County Schools. His hands found work with the Alfred Williams Trucking Company. During his Christian journey he was an Elder at True Faith Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Benjamin Houser and Margret Mae Bell. Those left to cherish his precious memory and legacy: his loving wife, Ruby Hagler Houser of the home; son Daythan LaFago Houser; daughter, Brandy (Rahem Odom) Houser; five brothers: Rev. John W. Hughes, Deacon Billy (Joan) Houser, Elder Dr. Joseph (Michelle) Houser, Elder Ronnie (Esther) Houser and Brother Luther (Mildred) Houser; sister, Mother Gail (Elder Anthony) Houser-Love; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and host of cousins, other family and friends. The Joyous Celebration of Life honoring his life and legacy will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from the Elkin Valley Baptist Church, 118 N. Elkin Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 with family moments of visitation at 1:00 P.M. until the hour of Celebration at 2:00 P.M. with Elder Ronnie Houser officiating. After which Elder Jimmy Houser’s mortal frame shall be coached to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery for earthly rest until the trumpet shall sound. His remains shall lie in state Monday, September 30, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem.
