Jane M. (Crossen) McDermitt, age 73 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Born February 26, 1946 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. Crossen, Jr. and Mary (McDonnell) Crossen. Attending Duquesne University, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, and CCAC, Jane retired as a registered nurse for McKeesport School District and was a member of both PSEA and NEA. She was a devout woman and active with her Parish, St. Michael’s in Elizabeth Twp., and also volunteered at Divine Redeemer Motherhouse in Elizabeth Twp. and sung with the choir at St. Patrick’s Church in McKeesport. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. McDermitt, who passed away November 2, 2011. She is survived by many who were lucky enough to call her their friend. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home, Versailles, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Church with Fr. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Procession and burial will follow to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, North Versailles.
