James “Jim” T. Miller, 78, of Anderson, passed away on September 28, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 18, 1940 in Anderson, Indiana. As a child, Jim resided at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home in Knightstown. He married Patricia Jones on March 18, 1960 and joined the Army shortly after in 1961. He was a proud veteran and after his honorable discharge, resided in Anderson. Jim enjoyed CB radio, camping, fishing, singing, guitars, organs and the harmonica and loved trips to Florida at the Arvilla. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and spoiling his grandkids. Jim attended church at East 38th Street Freewill Baptist Church. Jim worked at Peerless Electric, the Hopewell Center, and City Hall for many years and was well known in electrical sales throughout Anderson. Jim is survived by his children, Darrick Miller, Lisa Greene, Danta (Jeff) McCoy-Wessel, Jeff Miller; sister Kathy Vandegrift, known to Jim as Suzi; grandchildren, Tiffany (Ray) Miller, Mandy McCoy, Shane (Emily) McCoy, Kelly (Mikey) McCoy-Brown, Tisha (Justin) Carter, Kayla Greene, Erin Greene, Kyann and Jeffery Miller, Collin Miller, Emily Keogh, and Kayce Miller; great-grandchildren, Austin, Aries and Aaron Miller, Kyler and Kaidyn Wasson, Alexa Richards, Maddie Carter, Karmyn and Teighan Greene, Jordan and Jaxsyn Nicolai, Trenton and Braxton Brown, Luke Keogh, and one great-grandbaby on the way; several nieces and nephews, and special friends Sonny & Evelyn Earhart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ada Miller, wife, Patricia (Jones) Miller, siblings, Joe, Fred, John, Sandy, Jean and Charlotte; and son, Michael Miller. Jim was lovingly cared for by his son-in-law and friend Jeff, special thanks to the staff of Help at Home and St.Vincent’s Hospice.
