Jadvyga A. Shapras wished to use her obituary, as her last chance, to thank God for many blessings received, especially her husband Peter, Roman Catholic Faith, intercession of the Saints and most specially Blessed Virgin Mary – Glorious Mother of God’s Son – Mother of Mercy! She protected and guided Jadvyga to a closer relationship with Her Son Jesus. She was Patroness of the Scriptural Rosary, since Oct. 6,1983, every Thursday in her home. Everybody was welcome because Jadvyga loved everyone that the Lord brought in her life. And most important she wanted everybody to know that God loves them! Because, once in a prayer meeting God made her feel how much He loves all the people in the world! It was tremendous! It was so real, like it could be packaged and handed, if only she could reach them and say: receive God’s love!” Instead God opened her mouth and made her say – His words: ” I love everybody in this wide world!” Jadvyga would also like to impress the vision she had Nov. 2 ,1997, during Holy Mass celebration for her deceased mother in St. Cecilia’s Church: ” I saw my casket by the Altar. I knew that my deceased body was in that casket, but I was not in that casket! I was somewhere else, up, in the air, feeling so very good, free and extremely happy! And, this feeling, this feeling of great, great joy, this – not an earthly feeling – lasted a long time! I would like, but can’t describe what really happened! Because I don’t understand – how it happened? It was something I did not think or dream about -I was not asleep -I was participating in the Holy Mass! And, I was given the grace to feel and know how indescribably wonderful it will be, after I depart from this world. I will live – in great joy! Once, I dreamed that I was teaching Jesus how to dance the waltz: ‘one, two, three.’ But, just as I know, that this was a dream, so do I know that what I experienced Nov. 2,1997 was not a dream! It was a vision! So, let us rejoice and be glad until we meet in Heaven where my darling husband (who departed here June 30, 2014) is waiting for me!” She leaves son Peter K., daughters: Regina Fortune and her husband John and Linda Shapras, grandson Andrew Fortune and his wife Lauren and 2 great grandchildren: Annie and Bennett. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4–7 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. Funeral Mass Friday at 9 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home to Mass at 10 AM at St. Cecilia’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
