Harold Wanink, 77, of Lawton, went to be with Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at StoryPoint in Portage. He was born February 6, 1942 in Lawton, to the late Herman and Martha (Johnson) Wanink. Harold enjoyed working with his hands, from cars to woodworking. He had a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed charming the ladies. Harold was a family man and cheriehed his wife and his children. On April 25, 1964, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church he married Sandra (Bailey) Wanink who passed away August 11, 2019. He is survived by his daughter, April (Rob) Willis; two sons, Carey (Vicky) Wanink and John (Sue Pape) Wanink; 10 grandchildren , four great-grandchildren and one on the way, one sister, Martha (Jim) Dorr. Harold was preceded in death by three sisters, Roberta Hastings, Audrey Russeau and Dorothy Johnson. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Lawton. A life celebration of life will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Wayne McKenny officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lawton.
