Georgia Veggian, known to most as Joyce, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was 84 years of age. Joyce was born in Grundy, Virginia on October 9, 1934, daughter of the late Jason and Haddy Raines. She was blessed with seven wonderful children of whom she loved and cherished. Joyce dedicated her life to raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She always enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her amazing Lasagna. Joyce loved her cup of coffee in the mornings and in the afternoon while enjoying her music in the background. She also enjoyed her occasional trips to the casino and playing the lottery. Being a little feisty at times, you always knew where she stood. She was as an honest woman who you could always count on. Joyce will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever. Joyce is the beloved wife of the late Primo; dearest mother of Judy Mullins, Rebecca Shumate, Randy (Sue) Mullins, Tamra Jo Mullins, Karen (Mike) Fite, Lisa (Gary Nowakowski) Veggian and Jay Veggian; and many cherished grandchildren and beautiful great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Thursday from 4pm until the time of funeral at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to the family for the Season’s Hospice in her honor.
