Obituary of Gene Anderson Weldon Eugene ‘Gene’ Anderson of Decatur, Texas passed away at Stagecoach Rehabilitation in Bridgeport, Texas on July 11, 2019, one day after his 83rd birthday. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, July 15 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. No service is planned. Gene was born July 10, 1936 in Grapevine, Texas to Louis and Opal (McCombs) Anderson. He married his one and only love, Anna Lynn Arnette in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a self-employed cabinet maker, owning Colonial Cabinet Corporation for many years. He loved rodeoing, ranching, blues music, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter Janan Anderson and fiancé Greg Napoleone; son Blake Anderson; daughters-in-law Mary Anderson and Betty Anderson; grandchildren Whit and Katie Anderson, Kyle and Shayla Anderson, Taylor and Nicole Anderson, Katy and Scott McKamie, Robert and Kristin Brasher, Rachel and Austin Hall, Carter Anderson, and Addie Klaire Anderson; great-grandchildren Lauren Brasher, Berklie Brasher, Luke Anderson, Sloan Anderson, Kash McKamie, Wyatt Hall, Emma Kate Anderson, Cannon Howdeshell, Kimber Anderson, Seeley Anderson, Sutton McKamie, Hayes Hall, and Whitton Anderson. He was also blessed with longtime caregiver Tina Gaut, and numerous friends. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Ann, and sons Steve Anderson and Clay Anderson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
