Obituary of Gary Lee Belvoir Gary was born January 13, 1951 in Weiser, Idaho to Robert (Bob) and Evelyn Belvoir. He passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2019 after enjoying a day of hunting. Gary grew up in Payette, Idaho and attended Payette High School graduating with the class of 1970. Shortly after graduating, he married Donna White where they had two sons Corey and Casey. He loved spending time with his boys hunting, fishing, and attending Boise State games. Gary joined the Boise City Fire Department in 1977 where he worked for 27 years. He LOVED his job as a fire fighter. He traveled the world competing in many World Police and Fire games specifically in golf. He was very passionate for his golfing. On April 13, 2001, he married Mary Phinney and spent 18 happy years together. They loved spending time with their eight grandkids attending many of their sporting events, school related activities, taking the kids on boating/fishing day trips, camping trips and the list goes on. They also spent a lot of time traveling and sightseeing around the world together. They were also dedicated Boise State football fans attending many Boise State games and even attended two Fiesta bowl championship games. Gary always woke up on game day and said ‘What Day Is It?’ and he would wait for the response, “Game Day!” They loved playing golf together and played pickle ball regularly. Gary is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Mary Belvoir; son Corey (Andrea) Belvoir of Nampa, Idaho; son Casey (Kate) of Meridian, Idaho; stepdaughter Lecia Hodge of Nampa, Idaho; stepson Chris Hodge of Phoenix, Arizona.; eight grandkids, Christopher Hodge, CJ (Kaitlyn) Belvoir, Cidney (Chad) Spangler, Teigen Menard, Brady Belvoir, Austin Belvoir, Taylor Belvoir, and Zachary Belvoir; two grand pups, Oliver and Murphy Hodge; brother Howard (Vicki) Belvoir; sister Janet Miller, brother Bob (Karla) Belvoir; Don (Liz) Belvoir, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Clarence Belvoir. Services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Home. Gary’s celebration of life will be held Friday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park located at 1791 W. Shoreline Dr. Boise, Idaho. Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite Boise State University attire, and fly their Boise State flags on their cars if they have one.
