He was the son of the late Henry Albert Graves and Mary Jennie Phillips Graves. Garnett attended High School at Caswell County High School. His favorite things to do were hunting, deep sea fishing, and camping. He enjoyed traveling to different parts of the US to visit family also. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son: Ronald Graves, one grandson: Tavious Graves (Elena) and great grandson: Grayson; two brothers: James Alvin Graves (Johnnie) and Albert Frank Graves (Mildred Louise); sisters: Ersell Jeffers, Margaret Rebecca Williams and Mary Vanmetter Edwards.
