Frederick E. Becker, Sr., of Marietta, Ohio, died Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1941 in Warner, Ohio, to Paul R. and Kathryn J. Schenkel Becker. Fred was a 1959 graduate of Lower Salem High School. He retired as a millwright from Eramet after 37 years of employment. Fred was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching NHRA drag racing, farming, watching the Cincinnatti Reds, his pets and most of all, spending time with and watching his grandkids activities. He is survived by his four children, Janet Becker, Barbara Brooker (Myron), Fred Becker, Jr. (Tricia) and Loretta Parks (Sean); four grandchildren, Nathan Weekley (Sara), Kyle Weekley (Sara), Abby Jo Brooker and Megan Becker; one great granddaughter, Shelby Jeanne Weekley; sister, Frances Tornes (Ralph Jr.); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty May Lang Becker, whom he married on June 19, 1961; and granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Becker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to Warren VFD, for all their special care over the years.
