Frank J. Lamkin, 88, of Ferdinand, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th at Brookside Village in Jasper. Frank was born October 16, 1930 in Huntingburg to Preston and Lorraine (Blessinger) Lamkin. He married Cyrilla Ruhe on April 28, 1956 in St. Ferdinand Church. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2012. Frank was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, Huntingburg YMI, Ferdinand Civic Improvement and Ferdinand Community Center. Frank was a 55 year member of the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He was co-founder of Mobel Inc. Frank enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, bowling, working on the yard, gardening and attending his grandkids events. Frank is survived by two sons, Curt (Donna) Lamkin of Ferdinand and Kenny (Judy) Lamkin of Huntingburg; two daughters, Nancy Jackson of Ferdinand and Susie (Terry) Scherzer of St. Meinrad; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Cyrilla and a son-in law, Kenny A. Jackson. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rights. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also on Saturday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home.
