Obituary of Floyd Allen Davis A memorial service for Floyd Allen Davis, 76, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 2:00 pm. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Melvin Castleberry. Floyd passed away with complications from Parkinsons disease Thursday, July 18 at home. Floyd was born November 29, 1942 in California to Garland and Deloras (Cox) Davis. He was a machinist and the owner of Davis Hydraulics in Bridgeport. Prior to being self-employed, Floyd managed the Central Freightlines office in Bridgeport for many years. Bridgeport natives will remember Floyd as being one of the founding members of the ‘Crack in the Wall Gang’. Performances could be seen every year during the annual summer Butterfield Stage Days celebration. One of his favorite times of the year was the last day of school when he would cook for all the kiddos at the Clariden School in Southlake, Texas. He was generous to a fault and would give the shirt off his back for anybody. A fun-loving personality by nature, he enjoyed all aspects of life, including food, people, and gardening. His wife Jackie often teased that he’d never met a stranger and should’ve been a Wal-Mart greeter. When Jackie’s health declined, Floyd, knowing his wife’s love for flowers, planted multiple rose bushes right outside her bedroom window so that, during the hard days of her illness, being able to see the blooming flowers would help brighten her day. Floyd leaves behind daughters Saundra Whitener and husband Derick of Bridgeport, and Duania Nash and husband Ronnie of Argyle, Texas; brother Rick Davis of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren Wyatt, Autumn, and Allison; and great-grandchildren M.J. and Kayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Jackie (Shanks) Davis.
