Esther’s Obituary Esther Ruth Curtis, 71, departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born October 31, 1947, to Ani Walter Jones and Thelma Griffin Jones in Lake Charles, LA. She was a caretaker early in her life and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Darlene Curtis, Derrick Jones and Danielle Jones all of Lake Charles, LA; her siblings, Richard (Katherine) Jones of Atlanta, GA, Otis (Cheryl) Jones of Ann Arbor, Mich., and William Jones of Toledo, OH; nine grandchildren, Shalamar Curtis, Shandon Curtis , Shavonda Curtis, Shariena Curtis, Derricka Curtis, Dakiya Curtis, Delaijah Joseph, Landon Richard and Issac Cook; seven great grandchildren, Tearia Curtis, T’Jay Gray, Tatyana Gray, Tryllana Stewart, and Trillshawan Curtis, and Jaylon Curtis, Dior Curtis; Godchldren, Joshua Lewis, Jazlynn Lewis, Alaiyah Carrier, Pamela Dobbins and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great neices and great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ani Jones and Thelma Jones; one brother, Sidatsingh Jones; one sister, Mary Jones; one nephew, David Jones and one sister-in-law, Charvette Jones. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home, Minister Armand Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of King’s Funeral Home. Repast will follow at King’s Funeral Home Multi-purpose room, 1611 Gerstner Memorial.
