Elsie Mae’s Obituary Elsie Mae Anna “Sis” Bauer, 92, of Marinette went to her heavenly home to be with her family on Saturday September 7, 2019, in Marinette. She was born January 23, 1927, in the Town of Lake at the Timberline Lodge Lake Noquebay to the late Otto and Mary (McVane) Bauer. Elsie Mae attended the Wood School on Highway W and at age 15 began working at McVane’s Twin Bridge Lodge in Crivitz. She later moved to Marinette and worked for Dr. Peters for several years. She worked for 39 years at Lauerman’s Department Store until its closing. She then worked at First Northern Bank and Little River Country Club until it was sold and then did volunteer work and took care of her elderly mother. Elsie Mae thoroughly enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, wandering in the cemetery, serving meals at church and loved dancing, especially square dancing. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Lake 4H Club, Harmony Square Dance Club, Friends Sewing Club, Horizon Unlimited Senior Bank Club, Silver Swingers Golf League at Little River Country Club and the Bay Area Medical Center Auxiliary where she worked the coffee shop, gift shop, bake sales, knit bonnets for newborn babies and enjoyed the group bike rides. Elsie Mae is survived by one sister, Elouise Zorn of New Berlin, WI; one adopted granddaughter, Cadiejo Labunski; one adopted God child, Cheryl Kay Daley; nine nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; brothers, Thomas and Joe Bauer; brother in law, Paul Zorn; cousin, James Bauer, who was like a father to her; a nephew, Joey Bauer; and dear friends, Ann Echert and Leo Chepeck. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Thursday, September 12th from 10am to 12 noon. Funeral Services will be held at noon with Pastor Linda Forray officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bay Area Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Fund. Read More
