Elizabeth’s Obituary ANSONIA: Elizabeth “Betty” Shea, age 75, beloved and devoted wife of George W. Shea, peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2019, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. Betty was born in Derby on June 26, 1944, daughter of the late Louis and Louise Passander Ciravola. A lifelong resident of Ansonia and Derby, she was employed as the secretary to the principal at Derby High School from 1989 to 2009. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. In addition to her husband George, she leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Daniel Shea (Melissa) of Seymour, a daughter, Karyn Shea of Ansonia, a sister, Gertrude Squires of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Marissa Shea and Brandon Shea of Seymour and Kayla Sambrook of Ansonia, son-in-law, Eric R. Carpenter of Seymour and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane M. Shea Carpenter. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Betty’s life will take place. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
