HOLYOKE Eleanor M. (Doychak) Matlak, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 1, 2019. Eleanor was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Vinney) Doychak. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Cooper of Holyoke; two grandchildren: Natalie Day of Utah, and Jennifer Cooper of Holyoke; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Rodriguez of Floirda, and two nieces to cherish her memory. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles John Matlak and her brother, Msgr. Louis M. Doychak of Indiana, PA. The family would like to give special thanks to Holyoke Medical Center and Mount Saint Vincent Nursing Home. Family and friends are invited to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, South Hadley. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Indiana, PA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Mt. Saint Vincent Care Center, 35 Holy Family Road, Holyoke, MA 01040. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
