Edith Arlene Grissom, age 87 of Spencer, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta in Sparta, Tennessee. Edith was born Tuesday, December 15, 1931 in Spencer, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Waymon Shockley and the late Ruth McCormick Shockley. She was a member of the Bethleham Church of Christ. Edith is survived by her: 3 sister-in-laws – Gladys Shockley Elizabeth Boles Jennie “Lee” Grissom Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. special caregiver – Deltrice Howard In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Edward Ray Grissom, four brothers Creed, Clayton, Jessie, and Lenard Shockley: and a sister Helen L. Savage. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday June 15th at Spencer Funeral Home with Larry Bouldin officiating. Interment will be in Shockley Cemetery, Spencer, TN. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Spencer Funeral Home, 16000 Hwy 111 N., Spencer, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Shockley Cemetery in her memory.
