Donna’s Obituary Donna Marie Cooper, 82, of Belle Fourche died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare in Belle Fourche. She was born June 9, 1937 in Nisland, South Dakota to Otto and Pauline (Eckhardt) Brost. She attended school In Belle Fourche and at the age of 15 she quit school and started working at Bob’s Lunch and later worked for the telephone company in Belle Fourche. At the age of 23, Donna married Jackie Cooper. She was a homemaker and worked outside the home as a house cleaner. She received her GED at Black Hills College and went to work for the South Dakota Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Division where she worked for 22 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and was president of WELCA for 10 years. She enjoyed helping with church bake sales and other church activites. She enjoyed family picnics and gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Pauline Brost; sisters, Viola Brost, Ida Brost, Edna Hergerider, Irene LeLacheur, Betty O’Brien and Darlene Brost; brothers, Ervin Brost and Darrell Brost. She is survived by her husband, Jackie Cooper; daughter, Paula (Mark) Reese of Belle Fourche; sons, Shane Cooper of Rapid City and Derek (Janet) Cooper of Spearfish; 3 grandchildren, Mitchell Reese, Sarah (Eddie) Frazier and Emily Reese; great grandchild, Beckett Frazier; brother, Harold Brost and sister, Yvonne Spencer. Visitation will be one hour before services at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 AM at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche with Reverend Paul Howard officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. The family suggests memorials to WELCA of St. James Lutheran Church.
