Daniel’s Obituary A beautiful smile and constant joy was the thing everyone remembered and loved about Daniel. Despite whatever troubles came his way, he was always the happiest kid you could ever meet. Daniel loved the wind in his face, and riding go carts with his Dad. The outdoors was his favorite place to be. He travelled far for a kid in a wheelchair and had seen the peaks of mountain tops, the history of Savannah and Williamsburg, and cruised on the open ocean with Mickey Mouse. His fondness of Mickey Mouse took us on many magical adventures to Disney World and beyond. Daniel was well known in his community and enjoyed his days at school. He was adored by his peers, admired by his teachers and staff, and formed unbreakable bonds with his nurses. Daniel loved to be included with his friends and participated in many field trips, activities, Miracle League, Special olympics, Summer camp, and school plays. He spread his joy everywhere. He was always surrounded by love and family. His parents, Brandon and Becca, are thankful for his impact on their lives and are forever changed for the better for knowing, supporting, and fiercely loving him every day. Daniel was an example of true innocence and pure oblivious joy. His diagnosis of CHARGE syndrome, deafness, epilepsy, and countless other labels never defined his character. Daniel’s strength and determination were incredible to watch as he defied the odds against him as he took his first steps in his walker, signed his first sign, and conquered numerous surgeries. Growing up in a house with a special needs kid was a normal reality for Daniel’s siblings, Ethan (7 years old) and Tessa (4 years old). Being surrounded by wheelchairs, nurses, and various scary medical equipment, never bothered them as they only ever saw the brother that they loved. Daniel taught them to be understanding of the special needs people in the world. They cheered Daniel on at his events and learned the value of inclusion and that everyone deserves to just have fun and be a kid. These lessons of compassion didn’t stop inside the home. Daniel was an inspiration to his whole extended family. Although short, Daniel’s life was a shining example of triumph over adversity and learning to love and be happy no matter what happens. He takes a piece of our hearts with him. We love you forever Daniel B. Forever our little warrior at peace now in his Grandad’s arms. No more pain, no more wires, no more fighting. Read More
