Charles’ Obituary Ed McKeever, age 89, of Wake Village, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in a local hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. McKeever was born January 17, 1930, in Birmingham, AL. Ed and Jean Crawford McKeever were married over 69 years. He was a graduate of Hooks High School, class of 1948. Corporal McKeever was a veteran of the Korean war era and served honorably in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. In 1955, Ed became a federal civil service employee at Red River Army Depot for 35 years. During this period, Ed attended Texarkana Community College and obtained an associate’s degree. Mr. McKeever became the Directorate for Quality Assurance, Ammunition Surveillance Division, Missile Branch. Mr. McKeever was a 25 year active member of the Wake Village Lions Club. In April 2009, he was inducted into the Lions Club Hall of Fame in Tyler, Texas. Ed McKeever is survived by his spouse, Jean McKeever of Wake Village, five sons: Mike and Dorothy McKeever of Midwest City, OK, Terry and Debra McKeever of Tyler, Texas, Keith and Donna McKeever of Tyler, Texas, Steve McKeever of Wake Village, Texas, and Greg and Cindy McKeever of Red Lick, Texas. Papa Ed and Mama Jean have 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Chapelwood Funeral Home, Kings Hwy, in Nash, Tx. with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
