Camille Reiber’s Obituary Camille Reiber Sheridan, 96 years young, touched the hand of God on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. Born on January 13, 1923 in New York City, she was the daughter of Edward and Julia (Gaal) Reiber. She married her husband John in 1943. While married she graduated with an Associate’s degree in Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson College in 1956 and a Nursing degree and License from New York College in 1959. She was a practicing nurse for many years in New York and New Jersey, specializing in surgical, psychiatric and pediatric nursing. Camille and her husband later owned a candy store in the Bergen Mall Shopping Center, which they owned for 10 years prior to moving to the Poconos in 1987. Camille and John loved to travel. Throughout their lives they visited many countries including Hungary, Iceland, Italy and Mexico, to name a few. They were also animal lovers having had numerous pets such as Herby the parrot, Red the cat, and a number of homeless animals in need of shelter. After John’s death in 2004, Camille became active in the social organizations such as the Red Hat Society, The Garden Club and St. John’s Seniors. She remained active traveling with her friends and social groups. Camille could talk about most any subject you cared to discuss. She was well read over a broad range of topics but was especially interested in Political History, Presidential biographies and current events. True to her nursing background she also kept current on nutrition and health care topics. When she wasn’t reading you could find her watching Law and Order, CNN or programs on PBS. Camille was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Edward and Julia as well as her sister Lillian Koller. She is survived by her beloved child Dr. Donna Hodge, Rhonda Silfies, and Deena Dailey. Family members Debra Lys and Louisa Weddle. Dear friends Charlene and Charles Egbert, Leonard and Loie Bucel, and Dory Dorin and the many people whose lives she has touched over the years. A special thank you to Julie and Oscar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Rd. East Stroudsburg, 18302.
