Brenda Lynne McCarson of Blackwood, NJ, passed away on September 7, 2019 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of the late John Charles McCarson who predeceased her in 2009.Loving mother of Saralynne McDowell (James) and John Charles McCarson, Jr. (Tracy). Proud grandmother of Ricky, CJ, Brittany, Courtney, Jimmy, and Michael; great-grandmother of eight. Dear sister of the late Harry Douglas (Nancy Pettit, surviving). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Brenda was a devout Christian and regular churchgoer. She attended college at Glassboro State University (now known as Rowan University). She worked as a substitute teacher for the Bridgeton School District. Brenda was dedicated to her faith and her love of educating lead her to teaching Sunday School for many years. Brenda had a deep love for reading which lead her to develop a passion for writing, eventually publishing one of her books. She was skilled at flying and at one point was working towards getting a pilot’s license. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren when they were little. Above all else, Brenda cherished her cats; Porky, Fluffy, and M&M. Services will be Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Cornerstone Bible Church, 320 La Cascata, Clementon, NJ 08021 and will be lead by Pastor Jim McDowell.
