Bonnie Sue (Glass) Farthing, age 85, of Richlands, Virginia passed away on September 15, 2019 at her home. Bonnie was born on May 13, 1934 in Twin Branch, WV to the late Everett and Sophia McKinney Glass. She was a 1952 graduate of Welch High School. She was also a graduate of Concord College. Bonnie was raised in Davy, WV. Mrs. Farthing worked as a teacher in both the Tazewell and McDowell County School Systems. She dedicated her life by loving and serving her Father in Heaven, family, and community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katrina Asbury and Dorothy Hale; one brother, Charles Glass; and one grandchild. She is survived by her husband C. Richard (Dick) Farthing and their five children and spouses: Zaneta and Fred McIntosh of Mechanicsville, VA; Rick and Kelly Farthing of Chesterfield, VA: Cheryl and Bob Borden of Apex, NC: Duane and Charlene Farthing of Rosedale, VA; Scot and Leslie Farthing of Wytheville, VA; and 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Bonnie Sue Farthing will be conducted at 7 PM on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Richlands Branch (3645 Steelsburg Hwy. Cedar Bluff, Virginia 24609) with the President Jody Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA with a committal service. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery on Tuesday morning. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until the time of the service on Monday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Tazewell County Public Library – Friends of the Library/Literacy Program (129 Main Street/P.O.
