Watrobski, 71, of Amsterdam, New York passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, New York with her loving family at her side. She was born October 21, 1947 in Amsterdam, New York a daughter of the late John Michael Wszolek and Eleanor Mary Slusarz. A lifelong area resident, Barb was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School – Class of 1965 and later completed cosmetology school. Mrs. Watrobski worked for Mohawk Sportswear. She also worked at the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance in Albany for a time. She was known as Barb “from the dairy” and was the “Voice” and “Smile” at Mohawk Dairy for over 21 years. Barb was a member of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman, New York and St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam. For several years she was a member of the Perth Women’s Auxiliary of the Perth Volunteer Fire Department. Barb enjoyed bowling and was the Secretary of the Fifth Ward Women’s Bowling League for 17 years. She also enjoyed playing cards and participating in the sport events of her children. On August 30, 1069 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Watrobski who survives. She is also survived by her children Alicia (Timothy) Rivenburg, Latham, New York and Kevin Watrobski, Amsterdam; her sister Elaine (David) Gumienny, Amsterdam; four nieces, one nephew; twelve great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews; cousins and her grand pup Jagger. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Glenn Wszolek. A prayer service will be hld at 10:15 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, new York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, Amsterdam with Rev. O. Robert De Martinis, Celebrant. Entombment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call from 2 – 5 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to your local animal rescue.
