Armin’s Obituary Arwin William Gade was born in Curlew, Iowa on January 20, 1927. He passed away in Renton, Washington on September 22, 2019 at the age of 92. He has been a resident of the Seattle area for over 70 years. Arwin was a switchman for Burlington Railroad , from where he retired. His first wife, Audrey, passed away in 1983. He remarried Ruth Atwood in 1998, who passed away in 2009. Arwin was involved in the VFW, American Legion and the Railroad Union. Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Skyway was an important part of his life. One of his common phrases was “Whatever!” He was very loving, caring and at times cantankerous! Fishing, hunting, growing roses and cribbage were some of his favorite things…along with his beloved Mariners. He leaves behind his daughter Karen Barrie (James) from Othello, Washington, brother Donald Gade (Missouri), Sisters Elvira Eckert (Iowa), Alice Reinders (Iowa), 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Bradbury, who died in April, 2019. Viewing will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Renton, Washington on October 3, 2019 from 11-12:15 followed by a private graveside service for the immediate family.
