Cordova “Tony” was born March 22, 1951 in Raton, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Albuquerque at the age of 68. Tony graduated in 1969 from Valley High School, where he was a dedicated athlete who enjoyed track and wrestling. He then attended Albuquerque TVI and earned a certificate in Machining. Tony worked for Galles Chevrolet, General Electric, Raytheon and Eclipse Aerospace as a talented Aviation Sheetmetal Machinist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who will be remembered for his love of camping and all sports. He was always willing to shoot hoops, play catch or hit a tennis ball with anyone who dare challenge him. Tony volunteered at North Valley Little League where he was very involved for many years. He loved the outdoors, working with his hands and will be terribly missed and always loved. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Cordova; nephew, Timothy Cordova and by his sister-in-law, Marcia Cordova. He is survived by his mother, Julia Cordova; son, Neil Cordova and wife Lisa; daughter, Flora Chavez and husband Ernest Maestas Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Cordova Michael Cordova; sisters, Vicky Chavez and husband Rick, Carmen Cordova and husband Art; six grandchildren, Alexandria Maestas, Darian Ochoa and husband Alex, Domenic Cordova, Phillip Cordova, Ernie Maestas and Steven Maestas; as well as many nieces, nephews, god children, cousins, other family members and friends who will miss him greatly. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, in Albuquerque. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, at Paseo del Norte. Honorary pallbearers will be Alexandria Maestas, Darian Ochoa, Domenic Cordova, Phillip Cordova, Ernie Maestas and Steven Maestas.
