Alfred Knox Hensley, 82, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Alfred, a beloved father and grandfather, was saved in 1955 and a lifelong member of Fairview Bible Baptist Church. He was a skilled carpenter and retired brick mason who loved sightseeing and old country roads. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Carrie Hensley; sisters, Mamie (Elmer) Winstead; Dorthea (Jimmy) Wolfenbarger, Verda (Walter) Carpenter; brothers, infant, Thomas Hensley, Elmer (Gladys) Hensley, Dellus (Kathleen) Hensley and special nephews, Reverend Eugene Winstead and Kyle Winstead. He is survived by his children, Jenny (Clint) Anderson, Cathy (Burn) Anderson, Michael Knox Hensley and Rebecca (Rick) Seals; grandchildren, Rachael Reeves, Garrett Miller, Noelle (Travis) Mills, Caymon NeSmith and Brooklyn Seals; great grandchildren, Sarah Miller and Jada Lewis; as well as several special nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to mention a special thanks to his “Angel Nurse” Crystal Wright, for all her tender loving care and all the sweet nurses who loved him during his illness. Funeral services are planned for 8:00 pm Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Fairview Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Helton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm prior to the service. The family will meet at the funeral home at 1:00 pm Sunday, September 8, 2019 and proceed to Courtney Cemetery in Whitesburg for 2:00 p.m. graveside services. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
