Long-time Alaskan resident Alaree Ewing, 49, has passed away unexpectedly as of August 17, 2019 in her apartment in Houston, Alaska. A memorial service will be held at: 3 pm at Wasilla Heritage Chapel on September 27th, 2019 in Wasilla, Alaska. Alaree Ewing was born June 28th, 1970 to Wayne Ewing and Virginia (Jenny) Ewing in Portland, Oregon. She was the middle daughter of the family and loved dearly by both her sisters. Recently she was reunited with her long lost half-sister: Shannon Carlson, thanks to a DNA test and social media! Alaree came to Alaska in the 1980s and has been a resident ever since. She loved fishing, long driving adventures, diet coke, bonfires and spending time with her loved ones and pets. Her favorite occupations were cashier and barista because she loved making her customers smile. She was a believer and recently attended Church on the Rock and King’s Chapel. Alaree was of the rough and tumble variety. She truly had a heart of Gold in a world that tried so hard to break her down. She met many challenges and overcame many obstacles. She was not without fault or brokenness, but was loved by all because everyone knew that despite her personal battles she truly loved and cared for everyone she knew. Alaree will always be loved and remembered for her wit, true grit and beautiful heart & smile. Alaree is preceded in death by her parents: Wayne Ewing and Virginia Ewing (Holt), Sisters: Christine Ewing and Gena Ewing. Grandmother Virginia Stewart. Alaree is survived by her recently reunited half-sister: Shannon Carlson; her Sons: Troy Hays & Corp. Dillon Spratt & Grandson: Braxton Spratt; Nieces: Terri-Jo Ewing, Shauntena Ewing, Lindsey Ewing and Miracle Ewing; Nephews: Darius Winkely, Quentin Hamilton & Xavier Ewing.
