ZaVion Carmelo Spriggs known as “Zay” entered heaven August 14, 2019 after his battle with SJS/Ten at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Zay was born September 17, 2004 at Easton Memorial Hospital to Kaneka E. Rodriguez and Vernon H. Spriggs III. He attended the public schools of Dorchester County where he finished 8th grade to become an uprising 9th grader. Zay loved to play his x-box especially Fornite where he would trash talk his uncle. He enjoyed working out at the YMCA. Zay was very athletic in Basketball, Football, Karate and his favorite sport Lacrosse. He loved to tell corny jokes. Zay was one of a kind, a true warrior. ZaVion leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Kaneka E. Rodriguez; father, Vernon H. Spriggs III; three sisters, Sa’Mara, La’Mira and Alexus Spriggs; two brothers, Jayden Smith and Jahsi Diaz; grandparents, Phyllis Rodriguez, Vernon Jr. and Sheila Spriggs; three uncles, DeVonte’ Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez Jr. (Andrea) and Jermaine Hawkins (Tina); two aunts, Tanika Spriggs and LaTia Spriggs and a host of cousins, great aunts and uncles and friends.
