Mrs. Willie “Sue” Wood, age 89, passed away on August 19, 2019. She was born on December 19, 1929 in Somerville, Alabama daughter of the late Thomas Willie and Donie McDonalds Brown. She retired from Dr. Booth’s office as a dental hygienist. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Kaye (Robert) Salorio and Kathy Moore; 4 grandchildren, Todd Criscoe, Khristy (Ottis) Manley, Justin (Ashlee) Moore and Cameron (Sydney) Moore; 3 great grandchildren, Kandin Irvin Manley, Sutton Reese Moore and Savannah Grace Moore. Preceded in death by Glyn R. Irvin, Thurston Wood; parents, Thomas Willie and Donie McDonalds Brown; brothers, Carlis Hollis and Thomas L. Brown. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at New Canaan Baptist Church at Union Hill Road, Somerville, Al. Burial will be in the adjoin cemetery with Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Mrs. Wood will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home.
