Will’s Obituary Will Jacobs, III, affectionately known as Bill, 77, of Inverness, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019, at his home. Bill was born July 9, 1942 in Jackson and was the son of Will Jacobs, Jr. and Hermine Wynne Jacobs. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Bill worked as a Security Officer for the United States Marshal Service until his retirement in 2014. He was currently serving an Alderman for the City of Inverness and was President of the Inverness Lion’s Club. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Inverness. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; Will and Hermine Jacobs. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lynn Simmons Jacobs of Inverness; two daughters, Kuykendall Murry of Indianola, and Katie Brooks of Inverness; one son, Will Jacobs, IV and his wife Britney of Inverness; one brother, Wynne Jacobs and his wife Judy of Jackson; six grandchildren, Tyler Murry Howard, Ryan Eldridge, Simmons Eldridge, Peyton Murry, Mary Kathryn Brooks, and Olivia Jacobs. His seventh grandchild, Thomas Wales Jacobs, is planned to arrive in September. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, 2019, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at First Baptist Church in Inverness. A private family burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
