Virginia Frances Sykora March 25, 1930 – August 25, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Virginia Frances Anderson Sykora, 89, the widow of Rudolph Sykora, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. With her when she passed was her good friend Cheryl Juhasz. She was born on March 25, 1930 in Valparaiso, Nebraska, and was the daughter of Carl A. and Frances Jecha Anderson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church where she made many good friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Anderson. Survivors include: two sons, Timothy Daniel Sykora (Patricia), of Pinehurst, NC, and Mark J. Sykora (Ashleigh), of Monroe, Connecticut; one granddaughter, Morgan Mitcho (Matt) of Raleigh, NC; and three great-grandchildren. Virginia was a caring and loving mother. She lost her sight as a young mother raising two young sons, but she efficiently handled life’s challenges. Virginia enjoyed many activities during her life, including music, fishing, canoeing, bridge and good friends. She sang in several vocal groups throughout her life in Connecticut, South Carolina and Wisconsin and participated in many recitals. Visitation and Funeral Mass will be on September 5, 2019, 10:00 AM, at Holy Trinity Church, Haugen, Wisconsin. A committal service to follow at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, Wisconsin. In addition, a Memorial Service will be held on September 26, 2019, 6:00 PM at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Foundation for the Blind, 1401 South Clark Street, Suite 730, Arlington, VA 22202, or online at www.afb.org .
